set for mcelroy oreintation

We'll I also got a phone call today that I was excepted. I start orientation on Monday March 10. Gotta give my employer 2 weeks. Is there anything we need to know about hotel or orientation?

 

Yea I'm set for March the 10th as well. Looking forward to it. Any current Mcelroy drivers know if your driving through your home while hauling, can you sleep at home? I haven't got a letter per se though. Is this something they send you in the mail or email?

 

Forgot to ask, where on the website can I find the training schedule? My military unit wants it as proof I'm in training so I can skip my drill weekend in March.

 

The guys who smoked asked for a smoke break after 2 hrs, and then asked again after 3 hrs. He made them wait 4.5 hrs before he would give the a smoke break. He kept saying we have a lot to go over, which we did but he could have let them have a 10 min smoke break after a couple of hrs. It may just be me but he seemed to enjoy making them wait.

 

Here's something else I'm a little concerned about. The whole getting let go for bad backing and driving skills. In my 3 week course I feel I drove pretty well and my backing was decent as far as cones go. When I took my CDL test I feel I did very well considering I had to take it in the busiest part of my city during rush hour. Now all this was right at a month ago. I haven't driven a rig since then. Will they at least give you some training driving before you take a road test and then bam your either fired or hired?

 

Well got ants in my pants and thought about having to go to my current job for another week and decided against that. So my new orientation date is March 3rd. Can't wait, only thing I'm worried about now is I need to bring my social security card to orientation. Which is not a problem but it is laminated. Is this going to be a problem? Like get sent home kind of problem? Don't think I can just get another one if I have mine but it's laminated.
