    Would it be better for recieve to go with a shorter antenna or angle a longer one... To keep under the 13 6 legal height..... Just curious

    Height is might...Keep it as long as possible..In most cases a 20 deg angle is nothin..

    If you really want to check where your signal is going...use a field strength meter.

    I think the maximum on angle is not in excess of 17 degrees before you start losing vertical signal strength. Of course the wind will blow it back up at highway speed.

    Thanks everyone. I purchased the Wilson HD spring to install at the mount. I'm going to keep it vertical. I just came to find out that some of the trucks here have that monkey made HEAVY DUTY antenna. Not surprised that those are angled down some.

    the wind will blow the whip back but not the coil keep it as vertical as possible for best performance.
