Nope, not at all. Takes most of the vibrations if you ask me.
-
Would it be better for recieve to go with a shorter antenna or angle a longer one... To keep under the 13 6 legal height..... Just curious
-
Height is might...Keep it as long as possible..In most cases a 20 deg angle is nothin..
-
Say what you want still going into the ground and up in the air instead of out if you don't believe me call r&r communications in Delaware and ask them 3024751351!bored silly Thanks this.
-
If you really want to check where your signal is going...use a field strength meter.
-
Not gonna call anyone...Never said some goes into the ground,re read what i said.

I think the maximum on angle is not in excess of 17 degrees before you start losing vertical signal strength. Of course the wind will blow it back up at highway speed.
craig_sez Thanks this. -
Thanks everyone. I purchased the Wilson HD spring to install at the mount. I'm going to keep it vertical. I just came to find out that some of the trucks here have that monkey made HEAVY DUTY antenna. Not surprised that those are angled down some.

the wind will blow the whip back but not the coil keep it as vertical as possible for best performance.
