Setting up a holding company

I recently went through this but used a high dollar attorney and accountant both together to achieve it. I’d recommend finding the same.

Your holding company holds your trucking company. It also holds your equipment company, and if you have a brokerage it holds your logistics company.

Equipment company holds the equipment, trucking company leases the equipment from that company. Logistics company feeds trucking company loads or brokers them out. The holding company funnels back to you the owner.

It’s not necessary but does box in risk into containers so to speak. This is a high risk business so anytime you can help protect your cash and assets is a good thing.
