The above is what the face of my radio looks like. The far left/upper switch (with three positions) is what I'm wondering about. Which should that switch be set to? Thank you.

Depending on the amount of noise you want. Any of them works.

Top setting reduces the most noise.

For the least amount of noise turn the rightmost Knob clockwise about 180 degrees....grin

If you do a Google search for the function of your radio you will get a complete users guide for your radio.

Personally, I would turn off the DSC (dynamic sound control) and I would flip the other switch to ANL at the very most. Use the RF gain or squelch to remove other noises.

Mic gain would depend on the mic used and if you are a soft talker or not. Soft talker then turn it all the way up.

Lesson learned here ...... never be overly simplistic when you ask a question.
Be more detailed with your questions. Ask things like, whats that do-hicky right there do.

Or the always brain sizzling question, "Were does the other end of the co-ax go?" :biggrin_2559:

Thank you, sir. I appreciate it.

Lesson learned is correct. Thanks to Rat.
