I think most roaming today occurs on very select "local plans", as well as when traveling outside the USA (i.e Canada ) Some Samsung Verizon devices will refuse to operate on anything other then 4g networks so when you get into rural areas they become basically useless for data and you'll have to work off of another device. I say this based on storm chase experiences in Texas and Colorado where radar was inaccessible on Verizon Samsung tablet but worked on Verizon IPhone

My other device is 4 tin cans and lots of string, especially for those conference calls.

I can see now some "local" roaming may be done for cheaper plans, I just was not aware of it.

One quick note, when buying string, buy the nylon reinforced one, helps in the line not getting broken as fast as an ordinary string!

Well....your title is "Several Newbie Questions"....but I see only one. The other three or four are, what you wanna do when you're NOT trucking.
It's just ridiculous to me, but to each their own.
Not sure what drinking and smoking have to do with anything... is that what you think truckers do to fill their down time?
This thread is all over the place. Stink-a-roo!

You know, I said "roaming". I apologize. What happened is I went to Sullivan County, PA, and turned on Sprint's hotspot for the weekend. It used all my data, so I had none left for the rest of the month (a couple days). I have no idea what I did while there--I didn't think I needed to pay attention. I use my phone for everything, really. Well, except movies. :)

White Dog, I'm sorry this thread doesn't meet your expectations. And I put ketchup on hotdogs, too. Can you imagine?

If you have unlimited data with Sprint you should not have run out. I have unlimited data with Sprint on a family plan with my 2 daughters and have never run out or been limited in any way.I have never been charged extra either. My one daughter is a data hog watching videos. Never have an issue with roaming or being charged for it either.

I actually only like ketchup/catsup on mine, but I did a few times try the vinegar and it was indeed quite tasty. I think it's a "location thing".
