I was just trying to get general info on available products. I would like to by my boyfriend one as a gift when he finished CDL school. Does this product not exist?

I use a garmin street pilot. It has truck route. However you better not bank on it. They will route you on restricted routes. As others have said it is merely a tool to help you. Not to do your job for you. The main reason why I like it is for updated ETA's on the qualcomm. That way I do not have to look at a map and figure out how far I will be and what time it will be when I arrive.

I have a TOM TOM one. I really don't use it for the routing but for finding the shipper or Con when i get there. I will write down my route givin to me from the company and mostly go by that. It is nice having the tomtom to tell me what street is coming up. Insteed of driving so slow down a street trying to read the street sign to see where I am.

The GPS i am lookinng at for geting is for evey thing it tells you where gas stations are, on and off freeway routs, hotels, air ports, hospitles, rest stops, trck stops, service stations, and if you miss your turn it helps you find a nother rout. it has every address in america and canada.

Help I'm going to drive 100 miles tomorrow to get some stuff for when I go solo. The help I need is on a GPS I have checked out the forum on GPS here but the one that looks to be best is discontinued and only can get it on line witch I don't want to do. So my question is what do you use I here garmin street pilot series has a truck option is this true if it is I will most likely get one. THANK IN ADVANCE

All Garmins use the same software, and they do have a truck option. The extra price that you pay for the different Garmins is just for extra bells and whistles, not for better routing software.

I use the Garmin C330 and it works great. Walmart $178 and it has the truck option, though I wouldn't bank on the truck option keeping me totally out of trouble (ie low clearances etc...).
If you have a laptop, then Copilot Truck 9 is by far the best option for truckers in my opinion.
