might his name have been.. LORD CPAP !?! hope you wouldn't have mobilized him in a Crete truck, it would have allowed for a quick get away by the subject
On home time. I've made 4 trips out and have been here a little over 3 months. As stated from the start, for me, this is an Experiment. So here is a brief Crete/Shaffer numeric comparison: Previous Crete #s: 146,057 paid miles. 336 days worked. 218 loads. 669.78 Avg Load Length. 434.69 Avg Paid Miles Per Day. Current Shaffer #s: 37,838 paid miles. 93 days worked. 55 loads. 687.96 Avg Load Length. 406.86 Avg Paid Miles Per Day. Crete 434.69 × 45 cpm= $195.61 Avg mileage pay per day. Shaffer 406.86 x 48 cpm= $195.29 Avg mileage pay per day. So far, from strictly an income standpoint, it's a wash. It does appear to be Crete/Shaffer's objective that the two equal out paywise judging from the staff I have spoken to. However, there are significant job differences between Crete/Dry Van and Shaffer/Reefer. With Shaffer, I have ran the lowest daily mileage average of any company that I have worked for. Yet I find that I am more fatigued than at any other company I have worked for.
Reefer needs to pay more than 2 or 3 cpm more. I've noticed that most reefer companies have pretty bad reps... Are,you getting detention pay?
My deepest apologies, I thought 123456789101112131415262718192021222324252627282930313233343536373839404142434445464748495051525354555657585960616263646566676869707172 (I'm insane) was bashing the OTR job, and promoting local work. But geez, after talking with my hopeful future employer, OTR is for fools.
I agree that reefer should net pay more than dry van. More responsibility and less rest. I am getting paid my detention pay.
No. I had 2 Crete stints that totalled 13 months. But I did see a poster on your thread claim 142k last year.
