My first year with Crete, I ran 150,000 odometer miles. I had a single bunk Freightliner conventional with an 11.1 litre Detroit. No jake. The engine was supposed to put out 340 hp. But that engine was sick. I doubt it had 300 hp. Of course, I only got paid for 138,000. They paid shortest route miles then. To their credit, they pay practical route now.
Torque? ????? Yeah, could have used some of that !!!!
Someone earlier was saying Crete had stripped down trucks, they don't know what stripped down is.

Did a mention it was a flattop with no closets or storage bins. And it left me on the side of the road 7 times. Once in a blizzard. I hitched a ride to Little America, Wy. So, me and the road service guy head out to fix my truck and the service truck keeps stalling on I-80. In a blizzard. He had no working tail lights. I had to tell him to turn on the flashers. He turned on the strobes. I didn't wanna get flattened by a truck. It's not like he was pulling to the shoulder. I didn't wanna die.

Also glad xlsdraw is doing this thread. Kind of confirms my suspicions about reefer from that training stint.
