I'm bored today, I see where you had your accident now, exit 15. It looks like a tight turn, It'd suck to go out with a trainer, but at least you'd have a good job. Maybe talk to a lawyer to see if you can get the 4 wheeler to be at fault?

Yeah, actually it was exit 15 not 8B - I have no reason to lie at this stage of the game! Due to the fact that this company had already once given me a run for my money by shooting first then asking questions later I don't have the energy spiritually or ethically in constantly having to defend my actions every time the slightest thing goes wrong out there on the road.

I don't have any immediate plans on getting behind the wheel of a big rig anytime soon mainly due to the outlandish politics that dictate a driver's life, not to mention the drivers who disrespect other driver's lifestyle by urinating in parking lots, blocking fuel isles which are the very same drivers who claim to be part of some brotherhood...

Even though I enjoyed driving an 18 wheeler, I wasn't getting the miles to justify living life on the road for 45 days at a time. Not only were my miles cut in half but, dispatched ran me in the north/eastern regional area long enough. Basically, dispatch told me at one time that they were no longer looking at drivers national or regional statuses any longer. So, here I am running freight as a regional driver and according to dispatch I no longer have an identifiable status, the only terminal in that area has refused to service national drivers as they are only servicing regional and local drivers for the next month. So, now I am get messages telling me that I need to get my truck serviced but I cannot get dispatch to send me into a direction of another terminal. Deland tries to go to bat for you (or so they say) but apparently their weight only swings so far and then they lose momentum.

Somewhere between trying to communicate with dispatchers, fleet managers, and ignorant safety VPs, I also lost momentum. It just came to a point where I threw up my arms and said, "you're right and I'm wrong no matter what the truth is." I'm home now sleeping in my own bed taking a week off and by Monday I hit the pavement looking for work. I was taking home around $500 per week when I got terminated from Shaffer for once again, being accused of something I didn't do and told to take a bus home with a crap load of provisions all on $154. Strange... the last time they did this to me they gave me $174.

I can get a local job for around that kind of pay and be home every night with weekends off. Until freight picks up I can't see having to deal with the crap that's out here for that kind of money. It's one thing to have a bad week every now and then, it's another to have a bad week almost every week.

To go out with a trainer again it even worse... I would only get paid $400 per week which is around the same amount of pay I was getting when running solo but, here's the kicker - when being in your own truck you at least can cook and eat in your truck and at least save some cash. But, when running with someone else not only does your whole schedule change but now you have to spend half your paycheck eating at these lousy truck stops.

I tried to delete that post, when I finally saw where you were I reposted. I wish you the beat. I don't understand the trainer thing at all.I'm a Crete driver and have talked to drivers that had to go back out with a trainer. I feel bad for them. Some jerk left a the parking spot next to me and messed up my mirror last night. "A hit and run"? our accident department said it would be an incident, but I'll pay for my DAC in a month or so to see what they listed.
Again, I wish you the best. It's great being OTR, but a local job would be ok, I guess.

Yeah, I really don’t understand the incident thing at all. You could actually be out of the truck, parked in the most safest and secure spot around and then struck by lightning and the next thing you know you have an incident recorded on your DAC report… makes no sense at all.

I ordered my DAC report through DACfix because I just know that there are things that are on there that shouldn’t be only because this Ray Coulter (name may be spelled wrong) brought up a few items that were supposed to be dismissed. Not to mention, he was a bear to deal with and very rude as if he thought he was God.

I will miss the road but as I mentioned earlier, there’s no way could continue with the way Shaffer was handing out crappy miles, forced regional routes and playing the blameworthiness game. Actually I’m looking into some business opportunities, not job opportunities.

Thanks for the “best of luck” wishes… I’ll probably need it.

I find it funny that that the head of safety(Ray C.) has a DUI(or DWI) on his record.
I hope everything works out for ya, RRW.

DO NOT PAY FOR YOUR DAC/USIS/HIRERIGHT TO BE FIXED OR REPAIRED!!!

IT'S A RIPOFF FOR SOMETHING YOU CAN DO YOURSELF!!

Do I have your attention now?

These "companies" that you PAY good hard earned cash to to "fix" your DAC, USIS, HireRight (called DAC for the rest of this post) or whatever they are calling themselves this month is a scam spelled SCAM! You will do the exact same thing dealing DIRECTLY with DAC as with these companies!

These "companies" will have you fill out a form either on line or one that's mailed to you, for you to fill out with all of the information including your SSN numbers and all the other information that scam artists phish for! WHY? Because that's what they do! AND you're actually paying them to do so! Thats 2 hits!

Go to USIS.com or HireRight.com and follow the links to report an incorrect report on yourself. It's by LAW that they (DAC) have to do this and everything you fill out is the exact same forms that these "companies" have you do FOR THEM but all they do is just copy and paste to the lines at DAC.COM and that's the last you hear from them! (Unless you call them and they'll tell you "they're still waiting for a reply from DAC.") The results and information is sent to YOU not them (The SCAM Companies) when DAC completes their investigation!
While you're filling out your claim TRY to use a spell checker, and use as proper English as you can. Reread your claim SEVERAL times and check to be sure you are being CLEAR and precice in your claims against the company. Don't use sentences like "i dint hit no fire hadrant or the dumb broad pullen inna my drivers" Dat thang was alreadr broke and your a lyar" Yes, you might not have graduated at the top of the class in english or literature but your, yours, you're, there, their and theirs all are different words and meanings! Use them correctly and if you have to have someone that you know is better at writing help you then do so and get it right as it will speed things up!

A friend of mine paid over $150.00 to one of these scam artists only to have the results come directly to him and when he told me what he had done, I freaked, and showed him where he could do it all by his lonesome and saved a whole weeks worth of beer money!

I've had 3 things repaired on my DAC and it was painless and not the horror story I've heard in forums and on the CB! By law, DAC HAS to investigate EVERY claim and charge brought by you against your report! And it also doesn't hurt to send a registered letter to the company that you were employed with asking (demanding is such a strong word) that you would like a copy of all of the "incidences" (did I spell this correctly?) in your record. They really can't refuse this as it IS your record!

DO NOT LIE DOWN AND TAKE THIS CRAP!!

Right now, with the employment record of trucking companies down 30% you need to bring every weapon to the table and the DAC report is the biggest gun there! You're fighting against a whole lot of drivers for that one piddling job and recruiters have stacks of applications to choose from! Do YOUR best to have yours on top of the short stack!

Also make your application MATCH the DAC report as to dates! It really is a waste of your time and the recruiters to go through your app and see where you put down 5 jobs and DAC shows 10! You know where that application is heading and it's NOT the desk! They believe that DAC before they do a truck driver!

I might post this with more info later when I have a little more time but please let others know that there IS hope when it comes to your DAC report!

I can't wait for the economy to pick back up again, so these ######## companies become needy for drivers again. Then all of us guys that got #### on can tell them to go fornicate themselves. I want triple the pay for all the heartache. :biggrin_25510:

From my experience. I believe that a dui or major accident is a requirement to get a job in safety.
