You're Ms.Libby rogers not me!! I thought that scale on hwy 83 across from the Portillos Italian beef is where he was gonna take me... But no.

Another important detail is, during the actual traffic stop he's attempting to argue with me about the placement of my IFTA stickers, which I admit aren't in the best spot but, they are still visible you just gotta really look. Ive been pulled into several scales and traffic stopped twice for this but, still perfectly legal... Anyhow, he claims if I wanted he could call a trooper and I would be ticketed for this....

So if he's DOT certified like he claimed, why would he need the troopers? And, just for the record, bring the troopers... That level 1 sticker on the windshield and trailer is from the darn troopers....

Ms Libbey is "Billy madison" reference- I can't link because of cuss words.

And that scale will print out axle weights. They're wrong, but they will print on the ticket.

Officer was on a fishing expedition, nothing more. "Do you know why I pulled you over?" is designed to get the driver to admit to something, doesn't matter what. Then the officer keeps you talking until they get 'probable cause' or find something to ticket you for.

10-4... I figured that was a political stance, but good enough. You say that scale is not accurate, I would assume it must be state certified if that's where he escorted me to... Kinda was going to be my stance anyhow if he did give me a ticket...

Found it odd the actual state scale is 4 miles away but he's using that scale as his platform...

It's been more than 3 years since I've been there (definitely don't miss it, those docks suck with all the crud on the yard), so it might gave been fixed, but for 10 years my company had instructions in the work assignment to not trust the scales and get reweighed at CAT scale before passing any dot weigh station. The fun part is all those loads went up north, so they would add a routing point to Hampshire (closest scale at the time), adding 50 odd miles on the load. I always just hopped off into the ta just before the Wisconsin scale and then ran around it if I was over.

I also add that Addison is the town that tried to make video poker/slots illegal because the businesses that got the available licenses from the IL gaming board weren't the "right" businesses.

Way back when we still had paper licenses you could fold; going into stockyards in Chicago, you folded a $10.00 bill up inside a single fold of your license.
Motor man wow you down; walk up, lets see your license. Here tis, a quick unfold to view and handed back, go ahead. Shake downs just take longer to complete and cost more now....
Had one (first little town east of Tallahassee) visually clock me while leaning against a light pole as I went by. Imagine my genuine surprise when a mile or so outside past town here he comes. Informs me I was speeding: told me how fast, and what the on site rate was. Paid him the $20.00 and we laughed about him having left his receipt book at home.
Greenfield TN, same deal.. Woke him up clear across the RR track where he was parked. 2 of us headed to St Louis for hogs. 5 miles OOT he finally catches up to me after playing around with my mate behind. (Had I known it was him, I could have made into Fulton, KY and let him just got Pluto) But it was an alternative. pay him $20.00 each and go on, or go back to "an old cold jail, that had not had a fie in it for a week." Man had a selling point. 4 days before Xmas, and cold.

No sir, this was the coop at Lone Jack. I headed south out of Oak Grove 70 and then turned east on US 50 to go to Warrensburg. An eastbound officer, who saw me make the turn, pulled me over and accused me of skipping the scale. I told him the only scale I was aware of was up on the interstate about 15 miles east, which was the truth. He informed me that there was a scale "a few miles west of here on 50 Highway" and told me that because I skipped it he was going to escort me there, and then demanded I hand my CDL to him.

We won't even talk about the shenanigans that happened once I got to the coop. He wrote me one ticket that was legitimate and two that weren't, and placed me and my trailer OOS both of which were also not legitimate.

Personally I think he was just pissed because he had to work Saturday on Memorial Day weekend. Or maybe he had a fight with his wife that morning, I don't know. But in over 20 years of driving I've only ever had two unpleasant experiences with LEOs, and he was the second one. They've all been good since then.

    Siinman Thanks this.
