If they start going bad do to alignment or balance issues, they're pretty much done, and are never going to run smooth.

Is the shaking at highway speed, or in the mid 30 mph area?

25 years old, I'd be looking at the bolts on the shackles, the springs, and the shackles and the springs themselves. The bolts on the rear springs typically get replaced when you do motor mounts when the clutch is done ( 800Kish ).

Once those tires get even a little out of round they just get worse.

Does it smooth out once you get up to speed?

    No it is intermittent.

I went and got new steers and 3 axle alignment done. Toe was out real bad. Now I'm told king pins do have play so that'll be next on list.

    Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

A dealer is usually a good place for a good alignment.

I hate going to a dealer probably worse than anyone. But they do typically do a good job with steering.

Yeah the hourly rate kills me. I'll hunt down king pin kit and I'll see in time if tires wearing evenly etc. Truck is a 97. When shop looked up code for front axle they said it's a 95 front axle. So I don't know if it was a left over or a swap. I've had issues finding parts already. Most notably the rear suspension. Couldn't find correct air bags for it. Anyway, it's a neway. No springs just airbags and shocks.
