Don't just give me a line of crapola. I have a PERFECT record in every way. Two jobs in the last 15 years. Never any kind of violation, mvr, csa, dac, log books, criminal, never an incident!! I do not have one flaw!!! Sharkey will probably try to keep me if I was to give notice. But REALLY?? ($1450 per week guaranteed?) Sounds fishy to me and I'm sure you can understand the skeptic in me!! .58 CPM and 2500 Guaranteed miles, bonuses, benefits, and all that good stuff?? Sign me up!! I'll make sure you get a referral fee!! Where do you work? Who do I call? Sign me up!! Right now!! Don't BS me!! Sign me up for real, I already talked to my wife. She said find out who, what, when, and where! Tell us more!
Further more, why are you on this thread if your doing so well? Being incognito? If your working for FedEx, I'll pass. Those contracts come up every year and their turnover is high because of the instability. But if it's someone else, please send me info!! -
Actually, after looking at your post history. I'm not so sure you are a driver. If what your saying is for real, throw a dog a bone. But the threads you've been commenting on and the posts that you have made. Don't seem much like someone who is throwing gears all day. Throw a dog a bone, but after looking at your previous activity. You can understand how ALL OF THIS seem a little like BS.

Use your search abilities, Short cut. He works for FedEx Freight. So, his pay per mile is pretty good and 2500 miles per week is completely doable (linehaul, 250 mile swap). He's on I 80 with a buttload of freight. Actually, I went back pretty far in his posting. He's definitely a driver.
Is that the new insult of this board? Oh, you must be lying, I can tell you couldn't be a driver. I can think of more than one non driver (Meltom, Bullhauler's Wife) who have wonderful insight on the industry. Everyone here has something to offer...to someone. But calling someone out on the truth is the fast way to clam somebody up. You might miss something important that could help you, or save your life.... -
Yes, I do work for FXF in linehaul. I can't speak to the turnover rate of the entire company and I'm not sure of what contract you are talking about. LTL like any business is competitive. Any trucking company you work for has the ability to gain or lose business. Sharkey could just as easily start losing customers tomorrow. I certainly meant no disrespect. If anything it is just the opposite. A driver with 12 years experience and a clean record is a valuable commodity. I just felt Sharkey's pay rate seemed low for someone with your experience.
Not sure what your issue is, but you can feel free to shut the hell up anytime you like.
Thanks. No worries. I've been on several internet forums and you pretty much see the same types on all of them. Most of these guys are internet tough guys. Not gonna scare me off.............. -
No insults intended!!
But my point exactly. No one thru a dog a bone!! No one expanded further and told us where to go, who to talk to, where to apply, for this fairy tale driving job that you guys claim is a real driving job. Still haven't answered my questions. Just personal attacks on me. I didn't insult anyone, just said to prove it!! And no one did.
All my research on FedEx is, that their turn over rate is high, and the pay is no where NEAR what he claims. This is a Sharkey Link, not a FedEx link. All I'm saying is, if its so good there, SHOW ME!!
All my research says that FedEx pays the following:
TEAMS $0.42 - 0.46 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
SINGLE $0.38-0.42 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
OWNER-OPERATORS:
90% REVENUE OR P/ MILES

Here is a link that FLAT OUT lets you know EXACTLY how much those guys are making.

Truck Driver-
FedEx Avg. Annual Salary:$38,465
UPS Avg. Annual Salary: $58,653
I've had FexEx romance me before and talked with them for a while. But after talking with their drivers, they told me about the seniority boards, the layoffs, the casual driving, being on call all the time, and all of the other issues there. This is why I said "if your with FedEx" don't bother. But if it's really like that there I would love to come on board and make $1,500 per week and only run 2,500 miles. SIGN ME UP!!
But the research I've done, by talking with drivers, and the above reference material, that I have provided you. Say the opposite.
This is why I stay working at Sharkey. They put my job in writing. I contracted to my position. We don't have a: "wait and see what happens" job every day. -
But I'm no fool either. I do realize that there may be better opportunities out there and I am always on the hunt to better my family. I almost went to work for Prax Air one time and I'm glad I didn't. As I was thinking about the position (which took about a month) they closed that terminal down. That would have really sucked if I would have changed jobs from Sharkey to PraxAir and then got laid off a month into the job.
This is why I am so happy here. I was making .42 CPM when I was on dedicated lanes which was grossing about $1,300 per week. PLUS bonuses, PLUS all my healthcare is free for me and MY ENTIRE FAMILY! That is like a free $600 per month. My W2 was $64,980 last year and I have not found anyone who can beat that. But I'm always open to opportunities.
Most of the drivers here have been here 10+ years and I really do believe in my heart, that's for a reason. When I look at a company the #1 thing I look for is the turn over rate. If other drivers are not happy with a company, the turn over rate reflects that.
Every driver will be required to have health insurance in 2014 thanks to Obama. If you do not, you have to pay a $2,000 fine which comes out of your tax return. I am thankful that Sharkey gives me stability, great income, daily home time, free benefits for my ENTIRE family, and they have never laid off a driver. I feel like a part of the family here, not just a driver. -
There may be drivers making .35 CPM here but none that I'm aware of. I think that is just the starting pay?? But we get raises all the time so no one would stay at .35CPM for very long. Just take a look.
