She did the right thing

Curious to know what instructions were given.

 

Good luck with her finding another job, because she probably just ended her career; at least for a while. Can't believe she left a loaded trailer somewhere with a note attached.

 

CA to ok on 7 mpg loaded and then bobtail 800 on remain? I think she will be paying for the fuel to get or have to put the thing down where it sits.

 

Absolutely none. Closed, cards cut off. She did one thing right. Filled it. but the freight she pulled was a phyricc victory of sorts. No money in it for anybody.

 

What other option would someone have though? I know darn well I wouldn't be sitting waiting until a creditor came to pinch the truck and leave me stranded anyways.

 

I wouldn't have separated the truck from the trailer. Tough situation, but always CYA.
Whip out a credit card and rent a car then head home.

 

That really sucks for her but that aside I gotta hand it to the reporter for how they did the story.

 

How soon did she find out after picking up the load? Kramer Junction is quite a bit out of the way to leave a trailer if you are trying to conserve fuel to get to OKC. They showed a Pilot. There is one in Hesperia, Barstow, just to name a couple. I can see if she was enroute with the load in that area, but to drive TO Kramer Junction to fuel, then leave a trailer to save fuel for your bobtail trip back to OKC shows pretty poor planning. On multiple levels. I am not saying this isnt HVH's fault for shutting down like that, but it's a risk we ALL take out on the road.

 

Fill the fuel tanks. Drive towards delivery till the fuel runs out. Then you did your best to get it there.
