I guess I'm in one of my moods...
thus guy asked a simple question that could have very easily been simply answered. Then y'all start the hating over what him wanting a longer shifter? Really classy fellows....
To the OP extend it to where you want it and let the haters hate, I'm going by the chrome shop in a couple of ours for the 18" extension just to piss off all these company drivers that aren't allowed to alter they're tree hugging Eco trucks Yes Sir!! I'm going to just extend the air lines with push lock fittings, if you buy quality fittings the won't leak.

I ended up doing the twelve inch because the 18 just looked a little much lol. But this will give you an idea of where it would be hieght wise. I extended the airline 4" each. If you did the 6" I don't think you would have to extend at all
jamespmack, Crude Truckin' and twk88 Thank this. -
I found one kinda like that in my wife's dresser drawer. Bet she got it for my birthday. Does yours take batteries too?
jamespmack, sdaniel, Flyer and 2 others Thank this. -

I ended up using push style connectors and about 4" of line. I love it. We have a couple other 379's and a 388 at work. I hate driving them now. Love the feel of the shifter with the extension.

Go ahead and save the money...... Get the 18" extension from the start, The extension is much more comfortable and looks good also.
don't care what the haters say, if you don't like them, don't put one on YOUR truck. Kinda like ape hangers on the Harley, love em!KB3MMX Thanks this. -
Keep in mind the more weight you add extending it puts more weight not top plate shift forks, which don't like extra weight

Was wondering, is an extension the only option or, does anyone make an entire shifter where you would just remove the stock shifter handle from the tower on the trans and replace it with a custom one.
I would like to extend mine but, also would like it to sort of dogleg towards the driver and that wouldn't be safe with an extension.KB3MMX Thanks this. -
Don't know about one dog legging unless you had it custom built but yes the do have some that replace the entire shifter, some are hollow so you can run the airlines on the inside of them. They are quite expensive in comparison to the extension.
