very true 4x4 were fun

I ran a truck that was a 5x2x4... yep, 3 trannies. Lots of fun (oh OK, yes it was in the oil field)
All I can remember about shifting a Super 10 is when I was pulling a trailer with a spread axle, and while making a turn, I would flip the button for the next gear and have the truck slow down faster than the tranny, leaving me stopped in the intersection between gears.
That was with a 435 Detroit, I learned the stage 1 engine brake shift soon afterward.

the first truck I drove had a browning 5x2. a crackerbox GMC..
Also drove 5speed with a 3 speed rear now that was a pig...
a spicer 5x2 was fun because you has 5 speeds backing up..shifting going backwards drove most of the drivers nuts.
same with the 4x4 and a 5x4
