I shift when my loud pipes are at their noise peak. Hammer down
As far as the pyro goes, ever since adding straights all the way to turbo, my pyro never touches 1000 on long hard pulls. No exhaust restrictions really does equal lower exhaust temps.

Every Mack truck Sold here in Australia Until the release of the "CH' series in the Mid '90s was Air start..

If you got Flat batteries in the Outback you really were screwed.
However with Air start you had a lenght of Hose with a tyre chuck one end & a Gladhand fitting the Other, a glad hand fitting in the Start tank.
If all your tyres were 100psi & when hooked to the Start tank they equalised.
    1st tyre gave you 50psi
    2nd tyre gave you 75psi
3rd one gave you 82.5 psi Whoosh you're good to go.

You then hook the gladhand end to the Red Trail supply line & pump the 3 tyres back up to their 100psi

    I drove a 73 F model cab over with a 237 and a five speed.
It shifted so slow you could fill out your log book between shifts.
Later on I got upgraded to a Mack with a 300 plus engine.
I thought I was king of the hill with that one lol

stillwurkin, 201 and Oxbow Thank this.
