You’re right it’s Karma. Sweet Karma. I’m not crying about it. I’m bragging about it. The good ole boys in Atlanta were taking care of themselves. It was a Friday, and about 7 regional drivers were waiting for a load home as they were promised weekends home. I was getting a run around because I didn’t have an empty. Mine had mysteriously disappeared. I was in the process of arguing with the Terminal Manager over the Trailer I had acquired. It was sitting on the yard, with my kingpin lock on it. Apparently that’s against the rules. It didn’t matter. My dispatch called and had me BT to Detroit. I ran Automotive and the Strike had been settled. I had fun that week. It was like a vacation. Ended in a 700 mile BT home on a weekend in my WS. I stayed 7 yrs. It was a good gig at the time. Counting orientation, I only saw a terminal maybe 5 times in 7 years. It was great.
