The place across the street was original shoemakers. It was a family fued that caused the new place to the south to be built.

Sapp Brothers is still the best of the chain truck stops. They're not necessarily one of the "Big Five" (T/A,
Petro, Flying J, Pilot, and Love's), but they're also too big and spread out to be considered a small
regional chain. The one here in Denver tried paid parking for a while, but it caused a lot of controversy, so
now they're back to the entire lot being free.

Yeah I support Sapp Bros as much as possible along with other small chains or mom and pops. I have no use for the
Loves, pee lots, J and others. Amazing though the new loves in Omaha is already getting torn up form the douche bags among us. Can’t have anything nice for long.

When I went into Shoemakers 2 weeks ago, I didn’t find a spot. Why? Because of all the drop trailers, bobtails taking up whole spots and cars blocking spots for locals.

I let my feelings be known to the manager and told them I wouldn’t be back in there. Ever.

bzinger and Long FLD Thank this.

Sooooo. Glad I retired in 2010. Everything associated with trucking started a downhill slide in the 90’s—- I see that it isn’t getting better

I unloaded just down the street from shoemakers last Friday and thought I'd give them one more try ....1430 and the lot was completely full of junk and locals ...turned around and left .
