NE1 know what an ECU code 128 is?
Forgot to do a 'prevent' regen last night - knew one was coming.
Check engine light, an hour later, regen light.
Shut down for 2 min - check engine light off, just regen light on.
(all per usual)
Except this time the dash/odometer says
ECU 128
And check engine light comes back on 15 min into driving regen = fail
Sure enough 1.5 hours from my stop on a 9.5 hr drive it's blinking.
Too far to risk it dangit! Had to stop and do a parked regen.
All is well (for now)
ECU 128?

Why is on-road the solution to getting something fixed?!?
cost them $$ after paying markup and service call.

Twice now I've responded to this thread, and twice something happens to my connection before I can post.
So, instead of typing all that again, I'm simply going to suggest getting the truck into the shop when your check engine light comes on. That is the only way they are going to be able to find anything wrong.
I had the ECU128 code also. Told the shop about it, didn't seem to mean anything to them.capthook Thanks this. -
Just got done being repaired. The shop could not fix because the truck is still under warranty. two amber engine lites and ECU 128. Sent me to Freightliner. It is EGR sensor. had to replace.
capthook Thanks this. -
Apparently, ECU 128 is a 'general engine fault' and is followed by 2 more codes.
You then need the manual/computer to figure out the meaning/cause of those last 2 codes.....? -
1.5 weeks without a check engine light...not anymore.
So.. ecu 128 is a general engine fault.
You need to pull the additional codes.
Stop the engine, turn the key to the 'on' position,
and then press the black button on the dash once or twice until it says diag.
Then hold it to go into read mode. then press it a few times for different info.
Then look up the code(s) for the fault.
Mine said 'pdl 132' -low air flow.
There is a great pdf doc from mathews buses that walks u though it and lists the fault codes.
I tried to attach it, but can't seem to from my droidx.
Do a google seach for: Dash retrieved fault codes -
Too tired to post about my stuff. I did get a B service done. 525K on it. Still had the factory air filter on it. My coolant conditioner/filter has rust on it because of how old it is!
