I took the rest of the week off. Going fishing on Missouri River. Keep antagonizing the mouth while I'm gone.

No doubt you're also a former SEAL and CIA operative too.

personally for any insurance purposes i'd seek out the best shop possible for many things. whether it be a fleet shop or an independant shop.

some things one can do himself, only IF he is capable of doing, and has the PROPER tools/equipment to do so..

you have a better chance and a leg to stand on, in any court, over no chance, if you do it yourself. also, so would any people hurt, or killed due to one's lack of knowledge or experience in any accident.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

One tip I can give, is to always get a quote. Most wont want to. But talk money up front in hypothetical Examples if needed. And I avoid stacking more than 1 job onto a bill if possible. I avoid those who can’t answer simple questions. This helps Me avoid surprise charges on a repair bill. A lot of Theives out there these days. Especially at Dealers and Truckstop’s.

When I was a terminal manager, my shop was it's own 'Cost Center' and not on my P & L statement.

Most company shops hit owner operators with markups, possibly larger than an honest and busy shop that doesn't have a 'captive' clientele to fleece but must compete for a living and rely on repeat customers.

On the other hand you might want to stay in-house and try and get time payments instead of paying out all at once from your own pocket.

    your mileage may vary
