Ok. 2013 Cascadia. None of the receptacles in the sleeper work but when plugged into shore power, the light on the dash shows I have power to it...any suggestions on why I have no power from the plug-ins in the sleeper?

I use 2015 volvo and could not figure out about shore power. every time i get home, my truck died due to batteries I unplugged everything apparently not so i wanted to do better and keep batteries charged when i m home. do i plug in the shore power from house outlet to under storage outlet ? and it will keep batteries charged ? or just for outlets ? what about 12 volts plugs ? I have inverter that was bought at truck stop and installed by mechanic at company i work for. but i turn that off everytime i get home or not in use to save batteries.

i tried finding good information on shore power and its manuals.... no luck there. hope you guys can help.

If you don't have a factory installed inverter with the trickle charge feature it won't charge your batteries. If you plug in shore power it will only supply AC power to the outlets, the 12 volt ones will still run off the batteries.

Hi there, Most "shore power" that ive run into on trucks, feeds outlets in the sleeper n a inverter.Doesnt mean that it charges the batteries. That would entail a more expensive inverter-such as the Xantrex.Usually a inverter/charger is purchased/installed by the owner-i dont know of a factory installed, expensive system.Ive got 2 Xantrex inverters, set me back over a grand-but worth it to me.If installed correctly-the outlets supplied via shore power-should be protected by a standard house breaker(somewhere in line close to the plug).Atruckerswife02 could have this set up n the breaker might be off.If you didnt install this yourself-hopefully a competent person ran a ground thru the system n hopefully "you" are plugging in to a grounded outlet.Important since we are plugging in expensive electronics these days.Good also to keep that shorepower plug clean, especially winter.Rust never sleeps.
Back in the 90's-guys would have me install battery switches(isolators) in line-that way you operated like a boat-cranking battery-house battery.Old school-but worked, until corrosion came on,cables loose from vibration, forget to switch the switch, etc.Thank you technology, came portable chargers,inverters,inverter/chargers.
Wiring is fun,if you have the time. But it is so worth having a expensive inverter/charger,a good apu n a grounded shorepower-that way your(our) home away from home is more like home-Anywhere!

Xantrex system charges with 40A when plugged into shore power.
The sleeper panel inverter controller will indicate bulk when it's in charging mode
