Your credit score is not tied to income. There are paupers with 800+ and millionaires with 500.
A loan officer unfamiliar with trucking may at first see your income as just what is listed in box1. When you point out the $14,000 in box 14 (which is titled "other") and explain that this is also part of your compensation, he should realize that no employee of a truck company is fronting his employer $14,000 every year and at least look into the matter further. If not, there are hundreds of other banks looking to put depositors' money to productive use.

Did you find out whether they charge an administrative fee? You may have to ask "What would my cpm be with and without per diem?"
-
Yes I have to ask cause in. The. Paper they give me dnt say nothin
-
I think they say thw pay was 29 something like that m with werner they hired me as a student driver m going to do solo
)) for now let see
-
The more it seems like they are hiding something, the more likely they charge a fee. Be very clear that you want total cpm -- not average weekly take home.
It is possible they would pay you 20cpm taxable & 9cpm per diem instead of 31cpm without per diem. If so, you would say no to per diem. But if they paid you 29cpm without per diem, then you should opt in.maxter and briarhopper Thank this. -
We're talking company paid per diem ... they do not file a schedule c. Their per diem deduction has to be filed on schedule a and would be in lieu of the standard deduction.
-
Mea culpa... you're right. It's been awhile since I filed via schedule A. What you said is what I meant. Yep... you have to be able to itemize.
-
if u take per Diem you cant deduct the 58.00 a day at the end of the year (wrong) let say the company paid you 12000 in per Diem. and you where away from home 300 days so thats 300x58=17400 -20%=13900 minus the 12000 p/d you can deduct 1900 more off your tax
briarhopper Thanks this.
