Should DOT mandate 68mph speed limiters?

I dont think anybody has a problem with you endangering your life but when youre speeding with 80,000 lb vehicle around me than I have a problem. If you were speeding on your motorcycle I really couldnt give a

 

SPEEDING where did you get speeding,we do the speed limit and becouse you cant handle that you want to push an adgenda, put limits on the speed that we can LEGALLY run.sorry this is a trucking forum,I am a Profesional truck driver and i for one am getting tired of people like you trying to run my life becouse you either couldnt cut it as a driver or worse yet never been in a truck in your life.

 

Well i think everyone wants every truck to be set to 68 MPH cause them J.B Hunt drivers wont be going so slow....lol Shoot if every truck got set to that speed JB Hunt trucks would be going 2x fast....lol

 

As I agree no " TRUCK DRIVER" should tail gate anyone, that does not justify them as bums! I am not married to a trucker and I do not live with a trucker, but I sure don't think it is respecfull to call "ANYONE" a bum, not even a bum, unless they literally mooch off you and that would be a personal issue!
I am sorry if it wasn't for truck drivers you wouldn't have the food you eat , gas to heat your home & the clothes you wear, I won't go on any further since them are the 3 most important things I can think of you need a truck driver for! EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE RESPECT for EVERONE'S CAREER! MHO!

 

Youre right about my agenda. My agenda is not having some dumb riding myI dont mind if you ride my when Im in my truck because you arent putting my being in danger but when Im in a 4 wheeler I do. And I currently do drive and if you feel like testing me somehow on my real world driving experience then go ahead and ask. Ive been driving for almost 2 years now.
And you also do over the speed limit too. Are you telling me that when youre in Illinois or Ohio you go 55. Yeah right.

 

I do have respect, for those who respect themselves and the people around them. Im not just going to give respect to any guy sitting behind the wheel of a truck just because its his job. A lot of people have jobs and a lot of people dont deserve respect. There are plenty of good drivers out there and there are plenty of "bums" "punks" whatever who complain if you dont move out of there way fast enough or whatever.

 

I agree with you " there is a bad apple in every job" I had bad log auditors which gave me a bad name as evil (nice worded), but I just don't feel bum is the correct wording, again that is my personal opionion! Some driver are not very wise in decissions, but others are! So why must you call them bums (the wording sounding like you was calling all truck drivers bum, again my humble opinion). That's all I was stating and as well agree'ing NO ONE! should tail gate, but I get 4 wheeler's tail gaiting me and I am going 80! I don't call them bums, I call them ummm "jerks" and I dont let it bother me, I just shake my head as in , I hope you dont crash ahead!

 

I dont hesitate to call 4 wheelers that tailgate bums either, if theyre tailgating me while Im in my car. Heck, I live in a hick town in Louisiana and theres always some idiot in a pickup truck getting right up on you. I just get on my brakes and if he flashes his brights I just go real slow and pull to the side cause then Im ready to throwdown if hes willing which is rare :smt082. Not that I like to cause trouble or anything but you have to defend yourself.

i dont' think speed limiters should be used. i have been chased down hills in my four-wheeler just to have them fall WAAAAY behind going up the next. then repeat. (I-20 between B'ham and Hotlanta)
