Do as one hand advised, and find a gubmint job using your CDL-A... you don't wanna lose that pension, aye? Some sort of lateral move into a gubmint driving job would be cool, or any other job as long as you didn't have to deal with the general public as often as you currently seem to be doing. I get it about those jobs dealing with the public, those tards are ruder than ever nowadays... it's a Zen exercise in patience when ya gotta deal with those morons.

I lost a good gubmint job with an excellent pension plan back in Arizona, after I hollered at an inmate who kept smoking near fuel... I'm talking about a 1000-gallon gasoline tank too, sitting next to a 1000-gallon diesel tank. God forbid I hurt the poor inmate's feelings while he endangered the lives of everybody in the workplace. I still haven't wrapped my head around that one, and I don't think I ever will... this whole world has gone crazy.

So how did the termination go down? Did they call you in the office and give you that exact reason for your termination? Hollering at someone smoking near fuel tanks? I think you handled the situation quite well, problem is prisoners ain't the sharpest bunch in the first place. How else could you have done it? In a calm, reserved, gentle tone to someone that probably doesn't care in the first place?

 

Keep working government, but find government trucking position. The pension is worth it

 

Hows that different than literally every other job out there? It may be more obvious in trucking, but pretty much no one but YOU has your best interests in mind

 

I asked the guy nicely a dozen times NOT to smoke near the fuel tanks, especially when I was standing nearby, but the dick kept lighting up to rile me... some inmates are like that, once they know what pushes your buttons they'll just keep doing it. Anyway, I ####ing unloaded on the ####### and was later told that my "actions were inappropriate" and that it was OKAY for the inmate to smoke near the fuel tanks, go figure. I sent emails to several agencies about the blatant OSHA violation, but nobody gave a ####... just another blip in 'The Decline of Western Civilization.'
