In ref. to my above example, let's be gracious and say your expense is less so that you make a whopping 5000 b4 taxes (hey!, you never know) what do you get? 5000 / 13,585 = .37cpm Hey, when I left Crete I was at .38cpm "as a company driver" decisions decisions decisions.
But in all of this, guess what? there are those out there, willing to get you paid right, you probably won't find it at the big companies...but if you persist...you will find it, "mass apply". I talked about that a couple of blogs back, here I'll leave a link,Jo Bernard forumblog
Should I buy this 387 Pete or wait?

I talked to the company i drive for and sadly they do not pass thru any fuel discount other than cash price i see at the pump, also they charge the operator's a 15.00/20.00 surcharge to use their card at the pump and 5.00 chg. just to swipe it for misc.

The company I'm leased to doesn't work that way. No fees on comdata card usage and no fees on adavances. When I get my reciept from Pilot it shows I paid "cash price" using my comdata card but a week later when I get my settlement it always shows I paid less than what my reciepts were showing. Punching numbers on the calculater the best I have seen is .30 off cash the "worst" .07 The worst part is we always get the best discounts at Pilots but it saves me more money there so that's where I always fuel.

I have heard that it is that way at some companies, just never heard what co. they are.
If i were to lease to said company i would have to get my own fuel card/account. no way i would pay that surcharge. imo thats flat out hosing their O/O. -
Nationwide Express Shelbyville, TN .95 loaded .90 empty practical miles. Surcharge paid on loaded miles only right now it's at .285 and changes weekly. Empty miles have been 7% for me. They pull a lot of heavy loads but they also have some decent 500-1000 mile round trips where you go out empty and come back in loaded that pay as loaded miles all the way around. Working out good for me been there a long time.

Yes. But I don't know if they will lease you on being based out of Florida. We do take loads down there weekly. Never hurts to ask if you want.
