Try stevens. Some other dude has a thread about how he had 4 minor accidents while training at stevens and he is still driving for them.

But he took 3 times to pass his CDL in an automatic. It should be against the law to train anyone in automatic when the industry demands manual drivers. Yes the accident will probably haunt him.

I know I road tested a guy when I was with Westside Transport. He failed miserably because he couldn't shift. He was trained and drove only automatics for 2 years. The company gave him a shot and sent him out with a trainer. That company sucks though. :) But if you're desperate..... maybe?

Yes, there is NO reason that a school that charges 8K(OP had 1500 paid for by a grant) doesn't train in a manuel shift. Talk about setting a student up for failure.

He doesn't just have one accident, he has 2 accidents in under a year. One was in a personal vehicle, but one was in a big truck.

Just like trading stocks or gambling, you got to know when to cut your losses. I understand you problem (if I may be so bold); looking back at your responses they all center on the money you spent to train for this career choice, and you don't want to accept the fact that you made a poor investment (been there, done that). Staying with this in a attempt to make up for your losses is like a gambling addiction; just one more hand to make back what was lost in the last one, it never ends.
It's easier to find a job while working, so go get those low paying jobs (plural emphasized) and follow the advice you asked for.

    Bless you and your family.

There are no options right now as no one seems interested in even interviewing let alone hiring me. Yet I still hold out hope.

Addiction? Really? I see what you're trying to say, but the gambling metaphor does not fit the situation at all. Thanks for the thought though.

I didn't try any trucking jobs until I had my DAC sent to me. The accident during the road test is not on there. Aside from USA Truck saying they let me go for sfety and would not re-hire me, that's the worst on there.

I'm not looking for CDL A jobs only. Any driving job that hires inexperienced will do.

BTW the loan company is sending the loan back to the CDL School rejected, so I get the drama of fighting with them on how they expect payment when I have NO job let alone a trucking job.

    123456 Thanks this.

Trucking isn't the only job out there, and not even close to the best, unless it's the one thing you want to do with your life. Time for you to regroup.
