Glad you didn't give up easily.....if he/she had gotten away without paying, for sure they would have repeated the theft with some other business.![]()
SHOULD I FILE A LIEN ON THIS POV?

Send two certify collections letters. Make sure the letters are well written and professional and follow up with phone calls. If they still refuse to pay then write a third one stating you will take them AND the customer to small claim court...they hate when you get the customer involved. If still no success then call the customer and explain you never got paid for your hard work by the dealer and unfortunately you now have to get them involved and you will be taking the matter to court and someone will be responsible for paying for your service either them or the dealer, it's all up to the judge. Of course this is just a bluff... However, if these people have a conscience they would immediately call the dealer and demand for them to pay you if they paid the dealer for the transport service in advance. It sounds like hard work but if the amount is worth it you must do the leg work.rolls canardly, dunchues, Big Don and 1 other person Thank this.

That's a good idea.

What leads you to believe it was at the customer's request? Have you done past business with this customer, that he/she/it should have specified YOUR company, over anyone else?
Strictly personal opinion here, but from what you have posted, I believe it is already time to get the customer involved. Of course they may deny requesting you, but then again, they may not.
It's possible that the customer is wondering why you haven't billed them already, if they were not specifically billed by the dealer.
And I don't believe threatening to take someone to court, should ever be used as a bluff. Don't say it, if you won't do it. And if you are willing to do it, then put the "notification," (not threat,)
in writing to them.
Good luckdunchues Thanks this. -
What blows is the matter of how much money, and time do you put into it, with the possibility of it all just going in the pit, and never getting anything back out.

Not if you get cash in hand before you pop the first strap. I always told people that was company policy and I would be fired if I didn't get cash before unloading, they don't need to know I'm the ownerrolls canardly and Bo Hunt Thank this.

What he said;
Pay me now - or it stays on the truck.

Goes back to the yard with me - and it's "storage fees per day" on you.Terry270 Thanks this.
