Look at it this way. If you wreck. Clean up will be easy. :laughing-guffaw:

If you get the new endorsement in less than a year you wont have to retest on the other paper test, over a year you get to take them all again. Get it for you, you still dont have to take the Hazmat loads. Most drivers make too much of it, same for a TWIC card get it the same time and I beleive you will save a little on the back ground check. Again get for you not for them use it when it benefits you.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

I didn't find this so in my State. I got Hazmat, 5 years after my class B. Got it for a statement that I don't get in trouble. I'm not a troublemaker. That, for anyone looking at the license. (cops etc.) It did me good. Had incompetent security guards at a military base gate, try to cause me trouble. Idiots actually accused me of being a terrorist. That Hazmat was part of tearing that company apart and requiring them to do night shift security completely different.
That is another benefit of Hazmat. Also TWIC.
You have to be careful with 'small town security'. They're idiots.

Unless you are getting a license for specific company you know you will be at for a long time, everyone looking to advance their career by having haz, tanker, and doubles, what sounds better in an interview, yes I have my hazmat and can start in 2 weeks or no I can go try and get a hazmat and call you in a month or two?

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

I would most likely be in agreement with @x1Heavy if I were a company driver.

As a Leased Owner OP I can demand a premium with Haz and Tanker endorsements while pulling a dry box. Farmers and refineries pay good money when they want their bulk chemicals. I have heard too many times "you are the only one within 100 miles that can haul this".

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
