Should I go back to trucking? Should I be worried about recession?

I got off the road when the company I was working for offered me a job in dispatch. I did that for about 1.5 years before getting a job working in IT doing desktop support. I had some tech experience from before but I pretty much just over inflated the computer or "technical" side of dispatching on my resume to get the tech job.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

I've been to plenty of grocery warehouses but I never pulled reefer. I may look into that. Thanks!

Abilene Motor Express; you won't need private schooling; Abilene will train since you already have a cdl.
Abilene Motor Express will probably hire you. That's a good company to get some reefer training and up to date on the current rules & regulations. Haven't read any complaints at all about the company. Stay there about 6 months, then move on to DOT Transportation or you may just want to stick with Abilene. Many of their drivers have been there many years. They hire drivers with several years gap in driving experience.
Here's an older picture; I think they use Kenworths now.

Yes. Those really make more than 50k per year? Plumbing wouldn’t surprise me though.

I guess for 21st century you could add coding to the list.

It comes from the same source that says our President is a Russian agent and needs to be impeached.

If you’re interested. Magnum will treat you subjectively. You will spend a little time with a trainer. Face it... You do need to pick up on how things are done now. Peoplenet is goofy. Need to know how to overcome its failures. Get well reacquainted with the trucks again. They have their quirks also.
Magnum isn’t perfect. Overall very good company. Recruiter won’t deceive you either.

Yeah, the down side is, you have to pull a reefer,,,I pulled a lot of reefers too,,let's just say, it wasn't my favorite trucking job.

I've been in it for over 11 years now straight. If you are new coming into it or if you have taken time off and then come back into it years later well rules have definitely changed. As far as an economic slowdown I don't think its really a slowdown, I just think its everything that is going back to the norm.

Kinda like the big oil boom in ND few years back. I was up there when that happened, they were building hotels, fancy restaurants, big shopping centers... then one day BUST and now its turned into just the norm.

Company drivers may not see much of a change in it, but the O/O will especially from brokers.
