Do you think the recruiters will answer those questions honestly?

I'm not going to say h@m is a bad company because they arnt .
However since the changes of 2012 toward short haul ag chemicals and short haul in general with long periods away from home most of theyre owner op base is long gone along with the core group of long time company drivers.
They are very safety oriented and run nice equipment that is well maintained.
I was there several years prior to 2012 as an owner op and made decent money and went back as a company driver in 2014 and stayed about 6 months...the miles were low ! Nearly starving .
H@m is good company for an older single person that doesn't care about home time or miles but likes nice equipment.
It's definitely NOT a company for anyone looking for max productivity, miles and money .

Where are you located? If you worked for Averitt, that's an indicator you live on the eastern half of USA. Am I off base?

I worked for H and M for nine years. As other people have said used to be a great job. Owner turned it over to his son in law and that was the end of that. A hand shake used to mean something there but not anymore. I wanted to retire from there but could no longer watch a once great company circle the drain.

I started in 2014 and made good money. The run top of the line equipment that is well maintained. But as has already been mentioned long hauls are almost non existent and they are making a steady push into the northeast. Benefits are okay but rather expensive. I paid off my house and became debt free while working there so there's something to be said about that I guess. Very sad what is happening to a once great company.

I took no pleasure in giving this review. To the contrary it was quite sad. I am thankful that I am on the backend of my career. Sad that once good companies are falling by the wayside because their are fewer and fewer of them left.

You’re saying that IRT better than H&M?

Apples to oranges comparison. Irt runs top notch equipment as does h and m. Irt is food grade tanker only and h and m runs dryvans , heated vans and hoppers.
