Yes they r moving to a terminal closer to me and I would be number 3 on extra board already he said I would be getting in on a good time so I was kinda hoping maybe after a little while I can get a bid instead of extra board where I am home more often

    Chinatown Thanks this.

I drove for YRC Logistics and stayed on Xtra board the whole time. I refused to bid on runs. I was the top paid driver there. The other drivers complained because I was making a lot more money than they were and complained because I refused to bid on runs and just took the leftovers and runs for drivers on vacation or taking days off.
The terminal manager said, "Are you sure you don't want to bid on runs?"
My answer; "I can't afford the pay cut."

what you were doing they were senior drivers. They had great runs. You were taking their runs because nobody else could bid on them. You were the extra . I know that strategy very well Ha ha ha

YRC, I remember just a few years ago the last day , hundreds of drivers out of work, but you know what the companies saw that , they picked them up. They knew they were a good drivers.

Yeah, they all went to work ASAP. Recruiters were rushing the terminals trying to recruit those guys. I went to a union hazmat tanker company; the only one that did that. Again, making more money than the drivers that were scared of pulling hazmat tankers.

    Wargames and michaelj123xx Thank this.

If you're happy where you are, stay put. More money don't always equal more happiness.

You'll make way more at Estes. I'm already at 70K+ this year and got the check stubs to show it. Depending on which terminal you go to still determine a lot of things. I know one thing to, you'll EASILY cross 70K. This is a company check from the week before last. Basically I ran my regular schedule (2598) miles and a lay down to Texas. I worked 7 straight days on recaps home daily except the Texas run. Messenger_creation_ea488e9b-a9f2-45af-91c3-03828329eb8f.jpeg Messenger_creation_ea488e9b-a9f2-45af-91c3-03828329eb8f.jpeg
