Say What!!! I'm sorry to hear jtrnr, what a bummer: they should have considered you only trying to be safe. My drill sergeant use to say, "if you're gona be wrong, be wrong in the right direction"; unfortunately that officer didn't have my drill sergeant.......Jo Bernard

    Yessireeee,

A werner truck pulled into traffic, from the shoulder.

Poor Wiley Sanders had no where to go, and locked his brakes...

I took the 3rd lane, Wiley scooted over, and no accident occured.

Driving course on line took care of the ticket !!!!!

Wow! what a deal man!!! See that's what I mean Wiley Sanders should have held his ground "that is" he created a dangerous situation by hitting his brakes like that, the Werner truck should have slowed down: this happen to me a lot: when I realize the driver merging is trying to force a sqare peg into a round hole "sorta speak" I would lay on my horn and let them know "Hey"!!! the traffic is not stopping!!! "YOU" have to fall back. Unfortunately not enough people that own the lane are practicing this horn blowing technique: but it worked for me every time.......Jo Bernard

I believe trucks not merging to let 4 wheelers in on a ramp is probally one of the biggest call in complaints for most large companys....

"Your truck never moved over to let me in"

If you can get over, let em in! Just common courtesy. If there's alot of traffic around you, hold what you got and maintain your lane.

I only move over so I don't have to slow down for those that don't know what the go pedal is. I'll move over for another truck but never a 4 wheeler. It's rare they show us any respect why should we show it for them?

For all you trucking school grads I do oversize and with a short ramp it's kinda hard for me to get to speed by the end of the ramp .With escorts it's a piece of cake as the good ones will just jump out there and make a hole.
So for all of you that are kind enough to move over and let me in Thank you.
And I will move over to let anyone on if I can I kinda think thats what the mirrors are for:yes2557:

Your opinion may differ on this but for the most part I see almost all truck drivers show that kind of courtesy to oversize loads whether they are newbs or veterans. I always do, but I try to for ALL drivers 4 wheelers or 18. Now if we could just get everybody to give the same respect and courtesy to each other we'd have it made. I'll be holding my breath so just ask for Mr Blue.

As long as nothing is blocking the shoulder Im not stopping on a ramp and I dont expect cars to either. I start slowing down to make a hole if they are merging ahead unless I see brake lights then I hit gas and go on.
