I like my SCAC code since companies I deal with use it instead of my company name so it's easy to identify who I am. If you feel no one uses yours you can get rid of it and always signup again in the future it just may be a different code.

    PE_T Thanks this.

Should the SCAC code be displayed on the side of your truck with your numbers?

    No. It's not required.
I don't remember seeing it on any trucks. Maybe for those that are in and out of the port everyday.

The port and UIIA/IANA use the SCAC to match insurance coverage to the individual interchanging equipment.

NY/NJ uses their SeaLink card [tied to the individual's TWIC] and we need to have them assigned to our SCAC.

Should an individual break his lease, the carrier needs to terminate that link.

Otherwise the next import will be for his new carrier BUT still on your SCAC so you can be holding the insurance bag....

Thank you. but what I asked was is I should display it along with my other numbers on the side of the truck. Hopefully, I will NEVER have to go to the port in Jersey, or Jersey itself for that matter!
