Ok. I wasn't gonna post anymore on this thread but you just can't make this stuff up. I was at orientation for my new company and I got a text from my old trainer "trucks broke again". They put a new transmission in and the clutch pin broke.
Should I stay or go?

Wow!!
Has *** really gotten that bad???
I did orientation there and stayed for about a month. At least they fixed the trucks properly back then. That was in 07. -
i've been thinkin' about trying for that same company.....so, is it all about the image...hhmmm......i've gotta dig deeper i guess!!!

I would recommend doing your own research and going from there. I'm in no way trying to turn people away from any company just sharing my experience. Is there money to be made there... I'm sure there is. But at what cost. Good luck to you.

Good post. No matter which company it is, different people will have a bit of a different experience than you did. If you had been a day later, or a day earlier getting started YOU would have had a different experience.
(That's not to say it would have been a better one, just a different one.) -
I can understand, I've had days where NOTHING works on my truck.
(or I should say "the parts just keep on breakin'")
So it'd be really embarrasing to have a student on with me when that happend.
Sometimes it really is just a bad week with an old truck.
And after I left my (big national carrier) I was willing to do ANYTHING. I had such a bad experience I even considered going back into the Taxi/Livery buisness. I'd moved back in with my mother after my lease expired on the apt I was never in anymore, and was looking at all sorts of jobs. But there was one listing back in PA. A 3 hour drive for an interview? Well they were the first to get back to me, so let me set it up.
I came out with a nice set of clothes and a briefcase in my two seater. By the end of the day not only did I have a job,,, but I had a load the following morning!
I needed a hotel and 3 pairs of clothes just to get me though the week.
For the next month I stayed in a cheap flophouse and lived in my car untill I could get a place. And on weekends I had a 3 hour commute "home".
So I suppose stranger things have happend.
Good luck with your new company. Who knows,,, maybe your old company still thinks you work for them.
