Only a fool would take on the expense of owning a truck when the end pay is the same or less.

    ncmickey and iraqralph43 Thank this.

I still like being OTR, but then the other job would still have me out 5 or 6 nights a week, but with a different customer base, different challenge planning trips, but then having to drive my pov to get to work and back home,
But then the truck would be serviced on my hometime,
Plus I'm not a big job hopper, 20 years in a factory, 2 at PAM and the rest here

I have been with Crete/Shaffer, and even Sunflower for 16 years and it does get old!

This seems to be a heavy decision for you. Also, I sense you you have one foot out the door already? If true, everything bad about Crete will be magnified in your mind, and the good minimized.
Have you cast a broader net than the one company to see what all is out there?

I switched jobs two weeks ago after 7 years with a company
Unless you're certain it will be a better job, my advice would be NO.
All companies lie up front, the only variable is about what and how much.
However good the job looks now, divide that by half.
If it's still better, take it.

Better to drop it too high than too low

Not always, that trailer was behind a drain and was a foot high due to the slope, any half way decent yard dog would have spun the landing gear to a closer height .

Easier to crank trailer down than crank it up.
    Gravity can be your friend.
