I’m voting P&D. Although I’m biased because I absolutely hated doing the long stuff. I had a 600 mile run everyday and it completely sucked. I hate driving. Doing 15-20 stops a day during the DAY is so so sweet. Yea you drive backwards just as much as forward but you’ve got dinner at home at the end of the day.

I will say we have a LOT of crummy pups for Linehaul here in the northeast.

Tractor wise it is a modern and well maintained fleet.

Maybe it not rough necessarily, but it seems like they have a lot of old volvos. If they maintain them well thats fine with me

Surprisingly the old Volvo I got when I came in to it is a 2017. I didn’t think that body of Volvo was being made in 2017 still.

Their city trucks in Des Moines do look pretty worn out. Mix of old Freightliner M2 as well as even older International and Volvo retired road trucks.

I wouldn’t write them off for that though. You’ll find old trucks in the city at any LTL outfit.

That’s one nice thing about here. Everybody gets new trucks at some point. They don’t all go to linehaul first as some kind of rule.

Call OD and talk to the terminal manager .. Ask him. They are hiring. Best!

I called Dayton today. Pay starts at $24.25 and tops out at $28.47 after 2 years. Apparently they try to keep their employees around 45 hours a week which is nice, but I prefer more OT. That would be to start just short of 60k per year and top at 70k. They also bid start time, not route, is this normal? I'm starting to wonder if I should just stay put. I've got a pretty laid back job, nobody looking over my shoulder. Maybe I should just be happy with my $22.66 and 55 hours per week.
