Sometimes throwing straps gets me sore. Throwing them properly helps, but I don’t always do it.
Try and sling them like a hook shot as opposed to a free throw

I dont understand this obsession with needlessly tightening everything to its breaking point, it does not up the securement rating when your equipment is on the verge of breaking!
-
When I say I am using my body weight I am not doing so by standing on my winch bar. Also we use ratchet binders for chains so none of those snap binders being a pain in my ###. Not tightening anything to it’s breaking point either is better too. There is a certain point where the strength of its “securement” is at. Finding that point is the key.
Just like e everything you use your whole body to make the work easier.already gone Thanks this. -
One thing to not ever do is pull with a straight arm! The shoulders aren't made for that. Using your body weight is okay as long as you're hanging on your biceps and not your shoulders. A lot of my fellow carhaulers have a bad habit of pulling sideways with an extended arm, and that is about the worst thing possible on your shoulder.
Highway Sailor and BigBob410 Thank this. -
I get it when I have to do a load of slinky's. I almost want to buy one of those ratcheting bars but never haul them enough , thankfully.
BigBob410 Thanks this. -
Use your body weight to crank the winch, not your arm strength. You'll destroy your shoulder ligaments and rotator cuff.
