"The condition of the driver of the car was not known."

I still have yet, after 24 years of driving a commercial vehicle, to understand just why anyone would think it's ok to park on the shoulder of a highway, other than for an emergency..
Just yesterday coming across 78 I happened upon an Amazon trailer that was dropped on the shoulder, left rear corner was over the fog line, no flares or triangles, and it was kinda foggy.
I get it, sometimes things happen. But some common sense maybe?FearTheCorn, LOTSO, Speedy356 and 2 others Thank this. -
The guy holding his hand over his mouth pretty much sums it up!Last edited: Feb 18, 2024

Yes sometimes the authorities will look the other way when drivers park on off ramps, having a sleep provided nothing happens of course as they'd rather a driver be off the road then driving fatigued, however when something does happen then its a different story, and I'm sure the police will throw the book at the driver unless he could prove his vehicle had indeed broken down and could not move it any further, at the very least the driver should ensure no part of the vehicle is on the road. if not ensure the hazard lights are on and put out safety triangles.[/QUOTE]Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

Being that was on i-290 that driver had better have a documented mechanical problem with his vehicle or he’s toast..any other reason would be asinine considering it’s location

Why was the car driving so fast on the shoulder?
RockinChair Thanks this.
