    CB.

You'll know when you're on it when you hear all the squawking about Obama, Arizona, stupid people being told to shut up and Jesus Freaks. Then you have your tree huggin prairie faeries lightin up the waves the further west you go.

But of course, you already know this. :biggrin_2556:

because I have had better results running a single metal stick out my winder rather then 2 sticks. because that one stick on dat der right side likes the trees to much.

Barring the trees Jolsen, you'll get better performance on the CB freq's with that single mounted on your passenger side do to the ground plane. If you were running 2m, it'd be more better on the driver side.

Granted, if trees are taking out your antennas, then the drivers side is a nice compromise. :)

I've always been told (and beleive it) that it's ALWAYS better to run ONE ant instead of two, unless your two are at least 9 ft apart. i have to run my wilson 5000 right behind my cab(daycab) due to my peddle driver poss taking ant off with trees while delivering to the stores!!!!!! It works great back there. I've adjusted swrs down to where needle doesn't even move on either channel.

I have never bought into the "co-phased" wips on CB any time you hook 2 antennas together you will get a directional pattern. Now you can use this for getting GAIN .....

Page 10 and beyond in this link shows what happens with this common HAM antenna .....

I honestly don't see how I am talking to the trees when It is on the side of the truck everyone else is. Vs putting in on passenger side. I don't think It knows what side it is on . And seeing how the signel doesn't have to go though the truck to talk across the comedian. I think drivers side is better. I fail to see your logic.

    I'm running a Wilson 2000T on driver-side with a Galaxy 94HP (100watt radio). my SWR is 1.1 on CNL 1 and 1.3 on CNL 40.

If you think you're a bright feller and want your antenna to get damaged, go right ahead and mount your antenna on that side.

Of course, you are right that the ground is better on that side, but you can still run a ground wire from the mount to the skeleton on the driver-side. I have mine on driver-side because i don't want to go through new whips left and right.
