shower frequency

I try to shower once a day, usually in the morning. Some mornings that doesn't work because I might have camped out at a shipper or receiver but I'll stop and take my 30 and shower is that's the case. Right now I'm running an account in the Seattle area where the truck stop options such. Found a pretty good solution for me though. I have a gym membership at 24hr fitness and I'll BT and park there. In the morning I'll get up, go workout for an hour and then shower there. So far works out pretty well for me especially since I want to workout on a regular basis. When I'm at a truck stop, I'll usually run for an hour and then go stand in line for a shower.

But as some have said, there is no reason for not getting a shower everyday unless you choose not to. I prefer first thing in the morning but that doesn't always work. I don't feel human until I shower.

 

I once went six days without a shower. Worst six days of my life. But the cheap cologne in the Pilot bathrooms kept me smelling good..

 

At a minimum, you should shower as frequently as you fuel. They are free that way, and it should get you one at least every other day. Heck, you've got 10 hours to kill before you can roll out...shower, eat, sleep, eat...and you'll probably STILL have time left over. There is absolutely NO REASON for people to smell you 3 aisles away in the truck stop...

Showering every day is overrated IMO. Running solo, winter, and using wet wipes when I take care of business can easily extend me out to every couple of days. I also use Zinc Oxide under my pits after I shower and it eliminates BO 100%, and it's healthier than the aluminum stuff.

 

Yea there really ain't a guarantee. I have took 2 a day out on the road and have went every other day depends on when, where, and what I'm loading/unloading. Course I am more fortunate than some most feed mills, feed lots, and sale barns have showers on site. If not I will venture into the truck stop.

 

Almost everyday here.....very worst is every other day.

 

i have always gotten a shower every day. i dont mind paying ten dollars at pilot or other stops to get clean. i was with a trainer who had showers every day and he had card for most every stop, TA , PETRO, PILOT, LOVES, etc. havent found a mom and pop fuel stop that does the whole card thing, but I have collected all of these cards also. if you do lease purchase so i can fuel at any of these and get a free shower as company drivers can only fuel at certain locations. i dont like staying at truck stops because they are noisy and full of lot lizards. i normally shower during the mandatory 30 minute break daily and park at the rest areas when shutting down for the day. most times i get one for free but there are a few times that i had to pay. i know that when getting a shower in the middle of the day you can still get dirty before bed, but they do make wipes and hand sanitizer for cleaning your body before bed, just dont get the sanitizer into the wrong areas as it can be quite painful lol.
