Well thanks, from me. Some guy used his card to pay for one of mine somewhere out west last year, and I never stop at the big truck stops, still the only time I have

Think it was a Loves. Nonetheless, i didn't mind paying, nut he wouldn't take no for an answer.

Manager looked pissed, so I obliged, and thanked that dude.

Everything has gotten expensive. Showers used to be $5 and were free when you got 50 gallons or more of fuel, now it's 75 gallons or more.

Fuel twice if needed, 50 or 60 gallons or instead of 100+ once.

We wouldn't. Especially a lot of the disgusting tubs that cry like somebody stabbed them about everything.

    We'd feed them too.

This industry has become so unfair.

When I was OTR and I knew I wouldn't be fueling enough to earn a shower for everyday, I would fuel the 50 gallons. Then start the pumps again and finish fueling so I would get 2 showers on my card. The fuel desk said something a couple times and I just told them that I shut the pump off by accident.
But I have heard that at the TA-Petro anyway, they now will only give you one shower credit in any rolling 24 hr period no matter how many times you fuel. Don't know if Loves and PFJ are the same.

Pilot/Flying J seems to have this aggravating deal where if your fuel pump clicks off at 40 gallons so you try to slow pump another 5 gallons in each side tank it will stop the transaction at 49.356 gallons and you don't get a credit, Lol, the basturds! In my old truck I used to fuel a 1,000 gallons every month that I was busy and have unlimited showers the next month. But in the newer 2019 that #### thing would mostly come up short 1,000 gallons per month. But it seems like I always had at least 5 shower credits regardless. So I could take showers every day or if it was on the homerun day just take a dump in a clean shower facility if need be.

I always have plenty of showers. Mostly TA and Love's.

Need a shower? The OM and I can help.

I’m trying to understand the OP’s complaint.

In nearly 30yrs, I don’t think I’ve paid for more than 5 showers, all reimbursed by my employer, because of their circumstances. I usually grab 50gal, clean the windshield, pee, and go. I keep plenty of credits on my rewards card. What exactly is the problem?

Just a comment on price gouging in general, but as others have mentioned - “captive audience”. Everything is going to be inflated at the stops, but what can you do aside from refusing to buy and/or using your credits…
