It's amazing the people you will run into at truck stops and rest area's. You would think most of them have never heard of the idea to take a shower once per day or at least every other day.
Baby wipes do well when I'm stuck at a rig overnight in the middle of now where down on the border. I keep a container of them in my truck, it's a hell of a lot better than going to sleep dirty and sweaty in all the wrong places. http://www.antimonkeybutt.com/ works great in friction prone area's after the baby wipe bath. I love that stuff.
When we would send care packages to my cousin while deployed over in the sand box, they would go up to two weeks with out a shower. The top two items on his list were baby wipes and his favorite candy.
As for how clean the T/S showers are, most are decent and some are horrible. I keep a can of Lysol in my shower bag and prior to getting undressed I spray the bench seat and handles down. Other than the Lysol keep a cheep-o pair of flip flops like I do for shower shoes. My wife picks them up at Old Navy for about $3.00 per pair.
