Shutting down for the night: a challenge

I know where it is and I'm telling everyone.

 

Don't you dare! Great place to get a good night's sleep without idling trucks.

 

And Barefoot! Or at least flip flops

 

Not in February! LOL My truck is gonna idle.

 

I'm down with that. Just don't be snagging that secret spot and idling when it's 60 degrees with a nice breeze.

The best night's rest I ever had was next to a stream in central Oregon. I think we had three cars (that I heard) pass us during the night. Crickets, song birds, and a gurgling stream. Doesn't get better than that.

 

Yeah that's me most of the time. Allow 2 extra hours and still just getting into the gate 5 minutes early.

 

"My spot" That's pretty funny. In all my years I never seen someone get "instructed" to move cuz they was in a front row spot or even heard of that. I've seen drivers get asked/told to move because of they way they parked though. If you woke someone up at 9pm to "instruct" (lol that's funny too) someone to move, who got the spot that they were hogging? How did you determine which driver to wake up if there was a 15 spot front row? Sounds pretty complicated.

 

Yoyu just 'Knew'..It was a sense of kniowing......let me try to explain it.

Back in those days..We Had tons of owner-operators..And drivers who Drove for Carriers or Owner-operators and Treated their equipment Like it was trheir own..

You just KNEW.....You feel it out,

Kinda Like Being in the LEFT Lane on the Interstate......Montfort Would Literally Run You Clear Off the road If You were Hanging out in the Left lane while they came thru...

was it Right?? Who Knows...Just the way it was....A Courtesy thing sorta speak.

Just Like 2 lane Roads......We Ran 45-55 mph..If We started getting traffic behind us..We Pulled over to the Shoulder or Burm......allowing traffic to pass


None of this takes place today because of the way society in general has become..........everyone with Lawsuits (Frivelous or not) The General Public Crying because they dont get their way

So on and So on......Its a different time Now,..I mean Look, The Non-Smokers pretty much Got their Way in all 48 States!!



Its a Just A different Time Now..........

 

If its just to sleep i like home depot or lowes, menards or fleetfarm even better there lots are huge and dont get busy till after 10am
