There's a book in the glove box called an owners manual. Pull it out and read it! They make them things so you can familiarize yourself how to use the new vehicle and controls.
I'm glad airline pilots know what all them switches are for. What is this one for? "click" I don't know but our fuel gauge is dropping. -

My opinion would be unless you're shutting the truck off for an extended period of time I would leave them on. It's proven that it's safer to run with ALL your lights on during the day, little extra thing to grab someone's attention.
Even when parked I've always been told to leave the marker/parking lights on... Tells people there's someone in the truck, and more visible to the people like I with limited parking experience. Although I have backed into truck stops SEVERAL times so I feel confident I'm not going to hit anyone. G.O.A.L LOL -
