Running out of NFK, T to T is correct. Some of the "city guys" (those folks who drive a day cab) will run the shuttle routes to ROA (Roanoke) and back, or run to GBO (Greensboro, NC) and back. So yes they are city drivers, but run an LTL route. Each "run" last about 8-10 hours there and back)
As for positions, don't ask, as I have no clue whats available or not.I am Truckload and don't associate much with the yard folks. The yard is just a place I park the tractor for the weekend. LOL

Congrats on being hired with Averitt. Good company all around and a decent place to start or stay with if you so wish.
As for my experience... I'm still here.(see above) But like ANY company I have my good weeks and not so good weeks for miles. So yes sometimes I grumble about doing 2 days of 2-300 mil runs, then get 2 days of 600 mile runs... It averages out, but again good with the bad. But if you read up on all the post I and others have made about Averitt WJJ, you will see why most people stay and has close to 900 people within the company who have been here 20 years or more.
As for why I am online instead of driving? I have a local delivery tonight at 2200. Don't like starting out my week at night, but see above... LOL
