Sick while underload

The flu has started way early this year.

 

Stop making up stories.

Neither McDonald's in Plainview has truck parking. Or are you gonna change your story to it being the Walmart parking lot because they have a McDonald's inside?

And if you stayed in a truck with your wife sick for 4 days and didnt take her anywhere to get checked out, you're an ###.

 

If you can't drive you cannot drive. When I'm not sure if I should continue or not I ask "would I keep driving under this condition if I were driving home?"

I've been dead on my arse all week and just delivered a load 5 hours late .
Hits the throat first then on to sinuses lungs ...feel like hell and thundering headache. ..pour snot.
Sources say it hangs on for weeks .
Been with my carrier a few years and no issues with them .

 

There were times Ive tried to drive out of it going home. One really bad week in 1994 or so I was over in Effingham and that was day 1 by the end of the 4th day I had ended up near what I call Somerset PA in the SE side near the pike.

The fever broke the 6th day, the 7th was spent going through pitchers of tea and eating small of several meals to see if the normal body functions will come back. Rolled out on the 8th day. Dispatch was awful patient. I was empty that week so it worked out.

Now a days when fever gets to 103.4 Im in the ER let them break it. Thats my limit anyhow. When you approach 104 your life functions are at risk of death. And you dont want that inside a sleeper or hotel room. The ER can do a variety of things.

 

Keep an eye on your condition and don’t be afraid to go to a Dr. I had similar symptoms about 3 years ago. In my case it was a ruptured abdominal hernia. I didn’t go to the hospital for 4 days. Once I was in the figured it out and had me in surgery the next day.

 

Thank you for this story that included sweet tea. It really is a practical way to rehydrate. One time I was dehydrated and went to the ER, I was there six days to get enough fluids to be stable. Luckily I had already had a driver repower the load.

When I realized what the hospital was charging for the sweet tea IV drip, I had my girlfriend go to the grocery store and get me 17 gallons of Red Diamond Tea. I am now a type 2 diabetic from drinking it all but I kept my job.

 

You know I wish you the best, being sick on the road sucks.

However, don't be polite get to the point quickly and do not be afraid to call the company ... tell them you are sick have them figure out how to get the load delivered.

Do not drive either, the load isn't important, your health and safety is.

 

And drink anything that isn't acidic. Dehydration would be worse than your current symptoms. Don't play around, this can be serious stuff.
