Maneuverability. Drop the trailer or trailers where there is room and you’re making the delivery with the truck. The jobsite doesn’t need to have room to get a semi with a trailer in and turned around to get out. Nebraska doesn’t allow a set up like that, or Rocky Mtn doubles or anything. Wasn’t that long ago when you couldn’t even be over 80k on the interstate in NE, at least they finally started selling a permit for that.

It would only be doubles and not triples. Can drop out on the street and take one at a time into the job site.

    Yeah, that sounds like Nebraska.

A few years ago when they came out with their new tourism slogan: "Nebraska, honestly, it's not for everyone"... I could've thrown my TV out the window over that. First of all, we paid someone tax dollars for that stupid slogan... Secondly, it's not for everyone because they won't work with anyone. But, I digress.

If someone buys a big set of doubles from Cornhusker or from LBT in Omaha they won’t even let them be pulled empty out of the state. I’m sure some have been pulled at night, but legally they have to be taken separately to the state line.

Iowa allows the South Dakota doubles to go as far as Port Neal south of Sioux City.

I don’t know what all is available in your part of the state as far as ethanol plants and such. A belt trailer for hauling wet or dry distillers would be decent work if you can’t find out who the commodity brokers are that they deal with. The downside is that hauling feed can turn into a 7 day a week job pretty quick.

Been hauling tanker stuff out of Omaha the past few months. Didn’t realize there’s slums in Nebraska because all I used to do in Nebraska was in the western part.

I've tossed around the idea of a belt or a chain trailer for hauling chicken manure because it piles material better and I can haul more with it than my side dump without high sides. It's a toss up on whether I buy a second trailer or mess around with putting high sides on my current side dump for such things so I can make tonnage. I've thought about getting into the feed market but with all my kids in the toddler stages right now, 7 days a week isn't something I'm very interested in unless push comes to shove.

I was unloading at a Casey’s in North Omaha a while back and got approached by the same guy asking for money twice. And there was a car parked off to the side that had a lot of cars pull in and park for a couple seconds and leave again. I was glad to be there at 2pm and not 2am. Lol

I don't like anything about Omaha in general but North Omaha is especially bad. Took a wrong turn trying to deliver a machine to a jobsite years ago and ended up in a bad part of town in the middle of the afternoon. A few people came off their porches and followed me down the sidewalk until I was back to the main road. Dunno if they were messing with me or not but I didn't wait around to find out.

I was parked at the Love's outside of Schuyler one night a few weeks ago for the end of the day. I was letting the truck idle down while I was filling out my log books before calling it a night. Some woman with a dog came wondering up to the truck and just stood there watching me. I was literally the only one near by. I locked the door and just kept doing my paperwork...or pretending to do it by a certain point. She eventually went away but I knew I didn't want anything to do with anything she had going on. If I get work in that area again, I have a few friends over there that have offered to let me park the truck at their place overnight. I think I'll take them up on the offer next time around.

Those look like something California does. Minus the triple .

Doesn't NE allow 6 axle trailers? Or a 4 axle main with 2 axle pup?

I'd think a 6 or 7 axle side dump would be the way to go.

    The_SnowMan710 Thanks this.

The “triple transfer” set ups are in Nevada.

Nebraska is 95k gross on 7 axles maximum. No doubles.
