Good point.
We'd take that risk.
Anyway, sanding or painting the skirts might end up looking like the 'Road Warrior' or like the trucker made his own skirts out of a Sears shed--neither sounds appealing.

Considering billboards can cost as little as a few hundred to as high as a few thousand per month I would expect a check each month for the advertising as well.
SHC Thanks this. -
I refuse to go to Commie-fornia, so i no need da stinking skirts LOL
But just as Uncle grumpy said, the owner should be compensated monthly for the advertising as long as the ad stays visible.
Next question, how much profit do YOU the manufacturer get from this, cuz you sure are not going to do it for free. I bet you will get your regular monthly fee for the billboard/ad and pocket that... yep -
I think this could be an even worse idea than the guy who started a thread a couple of days ago wanting to put 2' x 3' decals on the truck and/or trailer (same guy, different user ID?
). Side skirts will always be dirty to some degree or another. They get the crap beat out of them by loading ramps, driveways, curbs, gators, etc. Any side skirt used for advertising would have to be made from a very, very durable material (not all side skirts are created equal) and kept clean (forget winter) or I can't see any advertiser with any sense putting any money towards it. Not to mention the inherant problems of negotiating the minefield of advertising a company that happens to compete with what is in the box. I can understand the appeal because the skirts are down low where 4-wheelers are more likely to see them so perhaps auto or travel-related services might work out okay, but I don't think we're going to be inundated by side skirt advertising anytime soon.
For anybody considering them, don't forget to think of the time, cost and care required to keep the side skirts clean, presentable and in good repair.BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
Any thoughts on which brand of skirts are the best, most durable?
-
Not from me, I don't know enough about the various brands. I do know that I have seen some that look okay and lots that look like crap. Someone else with some first-hand experience is bound to pipe up though.Side Skirts Thanks this.

If you put them on free I will advertise for you...at lease til I get home and find a can of white spray paint
-
My guess is this is the same guy that had the other idea. I don't think it is a company but just someone who is trying to figure an angle to start a company and make a buck. I could be wrong but that is what I think. -
Nope, I'm not the decal guy, just a coincidence.
So, who here isn't looking to make a buck?
I only start to worry when someone tells me he isn't interested in making a buck. (Someone mentioned commies in an earlier post.) -
For me I believe it would have to be free before I would volunteer my truck for a moving billboard.
Side Skirts Thanks this.
