Current story here....
-
And we arrive at the present. I have been here in Springfield for 9 days now. My student has allowed his mind to defeat him at every turn. After training him for 3 days he started questioning my methods, mostly based on what other students were sharing with him (their instructors methods). I probably should have sent him packing at that point (lesson learned) but I decided to try to talk to him, convince him to stay the course and pass the test as he knows how. He continued to let that cloud of doubt hang, and failed his pre-trip. Long story short, he failed 3 times, each time progressing then failing on the next part. He knows how to do everything proficiently. He keeps allowing his doubts and insecurities to defeat him. Still a sore subject with me, but I will write a detailed analysis later.
jomar68, JamesWilmer and Chessguy Thank this. -
Wow. I hope he pulls through. If not, and in any case, I'll be down there next week looking for a good trainer..
This thread is very helpful. Thanks! -
RE: DEF Filters... if Freightliner did this the way the DPF filter change is set up, the ECM should turn the Check Engine light on at the next 200,000 mile interval since you got the filters changed... the flash code will indicate the condition. No derating will occur.
The DPF filter software does that at 300,000 miles since the last cleaning. -
So it is possible...after TnT im going lease...quick question tho. What was your revenue like? What about after truck payment taxes etc?
-
You're going to start a trucking business, and you don't know any of this??? Ask to see your trainer's settlements.

I don't understand what repower means in the context used above. Can you explain?
-
A repower is when you trade a load off with another truck. It happens for various reasons, but most frequently when you don't have the hours to legally drive to your destination. On the lease side, if you are at fault you're penalized per SE's post.
