I wonder if I mount a 102” whip from the bottom of the fender on my Pete, would that work ?
-
I guess you can go through the cab to get under the hood to do repairs eh??flood Thanks this. -
Well at least you would have some metal under the antenna, which would help.Diesel Dave Thanks this.

Well I guess you can say that is partly true with the old cab over trucks. Ha. At the time of my post, I was thinking that the hood was part of the cab, and in a sense it is. But that's okay, you can rake me over the coals for my mistake. I can take it.

Well thank you. I appreciate it.

Just threw that out there, I’m not planning anytime soon to drill holes on my fender.
However, I’m always giving my truck a look around between the headboard and cab to see if it would be doable and slide some tennis ball to keep it from hitting and other metal.

I don't blame you, I wouldn't put holes in the fender either. In fact I screwed up again with my post. When I read fender on your earlier post, for some reason my mind was thinking front bumper. That's why I commented on there being some metal to help. Sorry for any confusion. It's been about 2 1/2 years since my bout with that awful covid. Not sure if I can blame my so called brain fog on that sickness or if it's just old age.
I was wondering what trailer you are pulling. I pulled mostly step decks and the headboard was on the front of the trailers. Of course some trucks have the head board on the back of the cab. I've never had a chance to mount a 102 inch on the catwalk like some drivers do. I would think it would be doable if your pulling a flatbed.Diesel Dave Thanks this.
